The 1999 romantic comedy Never Been Kissed, in which she co-starred with Michael Vartan, is another fan favorite, as is the series of big-screen Charlie’s Angels movies she has starred in with Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz. She has also hosted Saturday Night Live six times, and since 2020 has hosted the syndicated daytime talk show The Drew Barrymore Show. Most recently, Trucco has been starring in the popular CBS drama "Fire Country" as Luke Leone. He also played Taylor Swift's boyfriend in the video for her 2011 song, "Ours." From 2019 to 2020, Gilford starred as Detective Ben Walker on the Spectrum Originals series "L.A.'s Finest" alongside Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, and Ernie Hudson.

Named after a real-world literary critic and rival of Edgar Allan Poe, Griswold serves as both the antagonist and evil inspiration for young Roderick and Madeline Usher. The series is Trucco's third Mike Flanagan project, as he previously played John in 2016's "Hush" and Wade Scarborough in "Midnight Mass." In addition to her work with Flanagan, Parker's credits include playing Bernadette on "Masters of Sex," Nicole on "Rizzoli & Isles," and the leading role of Val Mayfield in the sci-fi series "Alt." Auguste Dupin, one of the most interesting characters in "The Fall of the House of Usher." The character of the same name in Edgar Allan Poe's fiction is a detective, considered by many to be the precursor to more famous literary investigators like Sherlock Holmes. In the show, Dupin is an investigator of a different sort, serving as both Roderick Usher's adversary and the man to whom he confesses his many sins. Seasoned actor Mary McDonnell is one of the Mike Flanagan newcomers in "The Fall of the House of Usher." But though she hasn't worked with Flanagan on any past projects, there are still plenty of movies and shows where you've likely seen her before.
Bruce Greenwood as Roderick Usher
Sean Frye, a half-brother of Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye, starred with Val Kilmer in the 1985 comedy movie Real Genius, and with Molly Ringwald in the 1988 romantic comedy film For Keeps? By starring in I Am the Cheese, the 1983 movie adaptation of author Robert Comer’s young adult classic about a teen on a journey to unlock some shocking family secrets (future Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon played his girlfriend in the movie). Mike Flanagan’s gothic horror miniseries for Netflix is loosely based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, reimagining them to recount the deaths of the six scions of the fictional Usher family, the powerful and corrupt owners of a modern pharmaceutical company.
Kyliegh Curran as Lenore Usher

Victorine Lafourcade is the oldest of the Usher “bastards” who has made her purpose in life to help people—though, it’s all in a bid to gain her father’s approval. While he may have positive aspirations, her actions aren’t always on the proper side of things, as seen when he bends the rules of clinical trials so that her new revolutionary heart technology can start testing on human subjects. Lumbly played a large role in the television series Alias and can also be seen in more recent projects such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, This is Us, and S.W.A.T. The Fall of the House of Usher is an American gothic horror drama television miniseries created by Mike Flanagan.
He’s constantly looking for a way to show that he has something to offer the Ushers. Academy Award-nominated actress Mary McDonnell plays Roderick’s twin sister Madeline Usher. McDonnell received acclaim for her roles in Dances with Wolves and Passion Fish.

Miller has become a real star over the past few years, especially on British television. After guest parts in shows like "Doctor Who," "Babylon," and "The Bill," she landed the steady role of DC Wilton on the BBC Three series "Witless." Since then, her star has only continued to rise. She played Maxine Tarrington on Netflix's teen comedy-drama "Sex Education," Claire Wright in "Free Rein," and Susan McLean in "La Fortuna." In "The Midnight Club," Sloyan plays the similarly spooky role of Shasta, and in "The Fall of the House of Usher," she plays Roderick Usher's oldest daughter, Tamerlane. Though Bruce Greenwood hasn't previously appeared in any of Mike Flanagan's horror series, he has collaborated with Flanagan on multiple Stephen King adaptations.

Balint has played a mom in every one of her Flanagan roles so far, playing parent to Leeza in Midnight Mass and foster mother to Ilonka in The Midnight Club. Within this growing web of scary stories, Flanagan has not only dropped in Easter eggs for eagle-eyed fans but has also employed a riveting ensemble of recurring players. If you recognize one of the characters in The Fall of the House of Usher's scream face, from the Usher kids to the broader Usher family tree you've probably seen it elsewhere in the Flanagan media universe, also known as the Flanaverse. Rahul Kohli is another Flanagan alum, with roles in Midnight Mass, The Midnight Club and The Haunting of Bly Manor. He might be best known for his role as Ravi in iZombie, and he's also a prolific voice actor.

Even though he's a dedicated, kind, and thoughtful spouse to Tamerlane who is always ready to do whatever will make her happy, Bill is someone Tamerlane chose strategically for herself — and the façade of their marriage is beginning to show cracks. Described by Frederick as “Gucci Caligula,” Perry is the youngest of the Usher children. Having only recently been thrust into the life of the ultra-rich, Perry’s goal is to make life one big party, and he’s hoping to use his family’s money to achieve just that. Siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built a pharmaceutical company into an empire of wealth, privilege and power; however, secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty sta... Kohli can previously be seen in a handful of Mike Flanagan’s previous projects, including The Haunting of Bly Manner, Midnight Mass, and Midnight Club.
Earlier this year, you might have spotted Longstreet as a cult leader in Prime Video's gigantically imaginative fantasy series I'm a Virgo. But Flaniacs will recognize this character actor for several reasons. He played opposite Gish as Mr. Dudley in The Haunting of Hill House, then a drunk in Midnight Mass, and a janitor in The Midnight Club. In Doctor Sleep, he brought a growling menace to Barry the Chunk, a child-eating member of The True Knot. Gish started out as a child actor in the 1980s, appearing in movies like Mystic Pizza and Wyatt Earp. She entered the Flanaverse in 2016 with Before I Wake, in which she played a social worker who oversees the emerging bond between a foster child (Doctor Sleep's Jacob Tremblay) and his new parents (Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane).
It's always hard for child stars to outgrow their original roles, especially when that role is one of the most famous of its kind in Hollywood history. Henry Thomas will always be known as Elliott, the boy who befriends a visiting alien in "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial." But he's also built a massive and impressive body of work outside of that career-defining part, much of which has come in collaboration with Mike Flanagan. Like Roderick and Madeline Usher, C. Auguste Dupin gets a lot of screen time during 1970s flashbacks in "The Fall of the House of Usher." His younger self is played by Malcolm Goodwin — a newcomer to the Mike Flanagan universe.
Parker started working with the writer-director all the way back in 2013 with "Oculus," in which she plays an unnamed store clerk. She joined "The Haunting of Hill House" as the ghost of Poppy Hill and returned in "The Haunting of Bly Manor" to play Perdita Willoughby-Lloyd. She's also worked with Flanagan on "Doctor Sleep," playing Silent Sarey, and on "The Midnight Club," playing Paragon founder Aceso. Most recently, Miller has been stepping even deeper into the realm of sci-fi TV, playing Cherise Nuland in the William Gibson adaptation "The Peripheral" on Prime Video and Zephyr Halima Ifa on the Isaac Asimov adaptation "Foundation" on Apple TV+. In "The Fall of the House of Usher," Gugino takes on the role of Verna, a mysterious and supernatural figure who haunts the eponymous family. Verna is one of the great mysteries of the show, though her true nature becomes more and more clear as the story continues.
After the main cast of Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy’s The Fall of the House of Usher was released on Thursday, Netflix has announced the full lineup of stars that will be joining Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Carl Lumbly, and more in the upcoming miniseries. Roderick isn't afraid to call his granddaughter, Lenore, the "best of" the Ushers. That's probably another reason all his children are vying for that affection.
